Jabedo's inspiration for these earrings comes from visiting nature centers, wildlife refuges, parks, gardens, museums and all kinds of other interesting locations. When there is a gift shop it always adds to the experience, especially because the discoveries there can be taken home. They are full of unique and educational items and we knew buying something was helping a good cause in some way.
Their business began back in the 1990’s when they began playing around with the idea of mismatched earrings and noticed that school teacher friends, and their students, were drawn to the colorful images and narrative themes. Since then, the process evolved while they invented and discovered equipment that would help them produce more efficiently.
All earrings are made with local cereal box paperboard and surgical steel. Handmade in Jabebo's studio in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania.
