Wild Ramona

In 2019 Roy Toft, a photographer and tour guide, shifted his focus from international travel to embarking on a project capturing the wildlife in his local area. Roy and Stella Toft reside on 28 acres of chaparral terrain adorned with boulders in Ramona in San Diego's North County. Utilizing motion-activated cameras scattered across their property, rare and elusive creatures were given the opportunity to capture their own portraits over a span of three years. 

From majestic mountain lions to elusive bobcats and nocturnal gray foxes, these animals gradually acclimated to the presence of cameras and flashes, granting us a glimpse into the concealed world of Wild Ramona.
